Broom tail tuesday

Weird that I was off today but I was. Admiral said she liked the seas so after finding no takers from the usual suspects, off we went just the two of us. First light headed out of patriots headed to the drop. From the reports, sounded like trolling was rather dismal so i knew it would be a day the admiral approved of. Beautiful ocean and a nice breeze all day made it a nice august trip. Pulled back the throttles at 150ft and pulled out the high speed gear. Admiral looked at me and said, “are we trolling?” I promised just one hour but after 45 minutes of nada, zilch, nothing I caved and busted out the bottom gear. Not much deep in 275 ft even though the bottom looked pretty good. Moved on in to 160 and started filling the box with pinkies and huge b liners. We had our limit quickly so we started looking for a nice drop to try and pick up a grouper. Sure enough, the admiral had a strawberry over the gunnel. Then it was a few reef donkeys only to be followed by my favorite, scampzilla. Beauty in the box. Decided we had enough for the two of us and headed home and back by 2:30.Really nice tuesday!

Man y’all got those scamps dialed in!

Hollar at me if you need an extra hand sometime

Very nice scamp. Did you get to weigh it? I did not weigh my last big one and cleaned it. May have been a mistake.

No weight. Long and skinny so probably nothing special. Tasty though!

That it would, it never gets any bigger than that. Unfortunately most all of them died coming up
