I’d like to report that the brown shrimp are running nicely in NC. All of you eager shrimp baiters can travel a few miles north and get your nets wet!
Bait Binder has been delivered to Eastern Outfitters in Hampstead, East Coast Sports in Surf City and The Tackle Box in Southport.
Happy Shrimping to all this year!
Have the regulations changed in NC? Last time I checked, they were confusing at best. Legal, not legal, open areas, closed areas, 100 shrimp (per person?), 48 quarts, etc., etc., etc. Every person asked will have a different answer.
-The size of a fish is directly proportional to the time between when it’s lost and the story is told. - Me
-What’s the best eating fish, you ask? I’ve found that for a lot people, its the ones that they happen to be able to catch, clean, and cook. - My Dad
-Until you have loved a dog, part of your soul remains unawakened. Anatole France (paraphrased)
-RIP my “Puppy Dog” 10/15/2004 - 1/14/2013. I’ll never forget him. What a special friend he was.

Sorry for the delayed response. Been in the mountains while my son was at Clemson football camp. I may be as sore as him.
While baiting is legal year round, it is best to check with the NC Wildlife Resources Commission website (http://www.ncwildlife.org/) because open/closed areas and bag limits for these areas are constantly changing. It never hurts to call their office if you have specific questions. Todd Kennedy, Major of Field Operations at 919-707-0030 is a good place to start.
