Brownies

Had an old buddy from the Corps call and tell me he caught one at the rip in front of PI while whiting fishing on Saturday, so we got the boat ready for Sunday. Gorgeous day, found water in the mid 60’s, but the water in the creeks was 58 when we left the landing. Much earlier than last year, but its obvious that this year will be strong.

Nice, it’s about time for them to start showing up :sunglasses:

Thanks for the intel. I’ve got my gear ready and will be heading out this afternoon. What was your buddy using for bait, OldSchool? Oh, and thank you for your service!

Ok, I’ll be the stupid one here. What brownies are you talking about? The only non-chocolate brownies I know of are shrimp.

I’m with occamsraiser. What are brownies? Flounder?

Thanks, way to early yet

Local Boy, Just having fun.

I agree with local boy. Too early, would love to see a pic though. Maybe with a phone with the date showing.

Don’t know what this year might bring but the last 2 years in a row I caught one in Broad River before the end of March. I think they come earlier and stay longer than most people think they do. Too dang cold for me to go fishing lately though, I can wait for a warmer day.

Interesting in the water temp. I was out this past Saturday, temperatures in the river ran 54-57 degrees. Caught a couple of sharks, that was it. Mostly it was just to run the boat since it has been on the rack since Christmas (not by choice!).
