Nice Fish!! a buddy of mine, Blane Chocklet’s client caught a wild 12lb rainbow there this spring!!! grew up near there, glad to hear fishing has improved since dnr electroshocked all trout out of river, due to disputes with property owners… have you fished above lake? should be some big fish moving up to spawn as soon water levels rise…

I have only lived in VA since June of 2006. I do sales that covers about 3/4 of the state of Virginia and I hit a lot of streams up after a long day on the road. The Jackson is by far the most productive river that I have fished since living here. I usually go to the Hidden Valley section of the Jackson but the water level has been so low that it isn’t really worth it right now. The lower section below the lake has been really good ever since I moved up here. There was a really good article last summer in Fly Fisherman Magazine on the Jackson. They really did a good job pointing out the upper and lower sections. If DNR killed a lot of fish all I can say is they have completely rebounded!
