Took advantage of a beautiful day on the pond with a boatload of friends. Left the dock at 8:15 for a short ride our to 60 feet in search of some black sea bass. First few sites the fish were plentiful but on the small side providing about 40 keepers. The sea was so flat we ran out to the Y to jig some iron for donkeys to see who would win the biggest fish boat pool. We got distracted chasing tunny in the hopes that they were blackfin and only managed 3 donkeys, the biggest at 26 lbs. Made one more stop in 85 feet for a few more BSB and found the mother lode of fat hogs stuffed with cigar minnows. Could easily have limited out but stopped short at the prospect of cleaning all those critters. Baits of choice, squid, fillet of bsb and tunny and jigs. Nice thing about tunny and bsb is not having to rebait for 5 or 6 fish in a row. Roughest water all day was in the harbor. Gotta love it!
