BSB

I know that I have seen post of people saying that we are going to be able to keep BSB. I know they say that they are endangered but I was out yesterday and I couldn’t stop catching them. I caught so many that my arms got tired (thats the only way I could stop catching them too). Does anyone know when the season is supposed to open back up? Thanks for the help.

It opened 20 days ago at 12"TL and 5/person/day. On July 1 it will go to 13" and 5 fish. Sometime between August and October we will reach our recreational annual catch limit and it will close again until next year.

Well now I regert throwing the 30-45 that we caught back. Out of the 30-45, 3/4 of them were 12-14". Thanks for the heads up! Now I know where I will be as soon as I can get out there again!

The fishing rules change all the time i always check DNR site often

I forgot to check it before we left and I didn’t have a good enough cell signal to pull it up on my phone to check it. Oh well, lesson learned and it not the last time I will get to go fishing out there.

13 inches 1 July

Considering we were catching consistent 18"er’s, I don’t think that’ll be a problem.

Bad part is, I haven’t had another chance to get out there since that time. Since then though I have found an iPhone app called Fish Rules. It is bad ass!!! It uses your GPS signal to figure out where you are and it links to an uploaded data base to tell you if the fish you are catching is in season, size limits, measurement requirements and any other special notes! It has pictures of the fish we catch so you can tell what it is and can even bounce a picture you have off the data base and help you figure out what you caught. It is amazing!!!
