I just ordered the 9" taper flex. Anyone else use one of these?
Skeeter, I want one, but they are kind of pricy!

I bought one when they first came out. I was initially impressed until about the 5th time I used it, it (I) slipped and hit the sink and the blade broke in half. It seems the original ones were a bit brittle.
I got three for free…so I use them. Otherwise I use the Dexters in the drawer.
Great knives. They will break if dropped, this is because of the hardness (rockwell) of the blade. The harder the steel the more brittle. This is why they hold an excellent cutting edge.

Yep - I got two at the beginning of every season, 9" wood handle. Was a head boat mate, cleaned 100’s of fish per day, knife gets better as the season goes on.
I agree with sells and jughead, I’ve cleaned god only knows how many fish at work with Dexter Russell’s and have never been disappointed
No gimmicks no hype just good blades! I am testing out some Demartini’s from Capt. Harrys and they seem to be holding up very well. Dexter Russell and Forschner

Have had Dexter knives for as long as I can remember, and still do. The Bubba Blade I own has a superior ergonomic handle design that allows the thumb to apply the pressure in a much more efficient way. It’s easier on my wrist.

Sells,
Are the ones with the blue and white handles the Dexter Russells you are talking about?

Those are D. Martinni from Finland. I got them from Capt. Harry’s fishing supply, they are about $25 each. We are putting them to the test, and so far so good.

Thanks Sells. I will look into them. Hopefully, the Bubba Blade does not break on me. I will use it for lots of fish, but I doubt I will put commercial type use on it. I have a couple other fillet knives as well as backups. One is an Outdoor Edge knife that came in a deer skinning kit. It looks like it will do the job too. My other one is a Victorinox? Fibrox? Series Flexible Filet Knife.
