Buck hall Closing ?

CreekGirl how bout an impassioned plea to McClellanville to open their docks to public, maybe a drop box for 10$. There’s a field over behind the shrimpers where a good many can park… Sure would be a nice gesture.

The federal government is doing anything it can right now to inconvenience people. This administration wants the shutdown to hurt so they can blame it on the other party. Sorry, not trying to make this political but, there is no real reason to close Buck Hall.

“Apathy is the Glove in Which Evil Slips It’s Hand”.

Should have voted two years ago. Obama will not negotiate and he wants everyone to suffer so that his agenda is forced on the people by the politicians. Not government for the people by the people!

Just sent Governor Haleys office an email
asked her to please open the federal ramps…Fat chance, but if enough people do the same, who knows??

Our Government is famous for attaching unrelated agenda to good bills for special interests. That should be a crime…It is like kidnapping or holding someone “hostage”…Each law should stand on its own merit.Sneaky bass terds. Yes bass pooptoo

what field behind the "shrimpers"? You can go buy a permit like the other 100 people were doing this morning.i

If you come back out on the road that leads to the landing and stay left it runs into a field adjacent to a shrimp business, between the landing and the ICW

Any way to but the permits at McClellanville on Saturday? I come from upstate and may not get there til after 5 Friday. What do they charge for a day pass?

I am heading down Friday am to McClennvile with my sweet smile and “Hey Ya’ll” attitude. You get more with sugar than salt momma said…I have been practicing my wink eye and hope it works this time…Remember…McClennville had a real bad patch with shrimpers before Buck Hall…they would slash tires and spray paint trucks, years ago… $100 for a yearly parking permit is tough…

The Ferry is going to be a JOKE…scared to see the car on blocks when we get back…heard the locals hate the traffic…and the only other option is possibly the Pole Yard SC run or Johnsons which is a ride…We will all be happy when the new Charleston County Park is built right next to Buck Hall…only when?

If I am not mistaken the permit from the Town of McClellanvile does
not guarantee you a spot in the parking lot. If lot is full then
you have no where to park and you are back to square one. Penfishn
can probably clarify.

just talked to Town Hall…here is you WIKIshrimps info…again suga wins…he said you an get a day pass for $10 to launch boat…a 3 day pass is $30 … A year pass is $100 for the rest of the year…They are open M-F 9-5…no online or phone registrations…warm bodied applicants only.

Parking…you will be fined $55 for parking on any road with a trailer… Park the closed school heading in on right…if you park catty wampus you will get a ticket…he also said if you buy gas from the marina? They will let you park there also.

Hand me a can of courage I see white caps on land! it is going to be a crazy weekend!

I always put in at the ferry landing. It’s awesome. I’d rather be riding my boat than riding in the truck. Definitely not driving further and then paying. I drive far enough as it is.

I wish ya’ll luck parking at the MCVL landing. Those local boys really hate shrimp baiters, and they are all crazy to boot. Take pics, and share the stories.

it sounds like you are describing the old crab company, if this is the case you must not have been there for a while.

. Would have just called my cousin at the town office …but already knew the info. I don’t even buy a permit because I know how bad parking is. …and yes…despite living there I would have to pay 100.00 too to the town of mcclellanville . 100.00 devided by 12 …less than 9.00 month…not much compared to what some "clubs "charge. Price gold bug or James island yacht…woooweeee.[:0]

The fact that you can get a permit, daily, three days or yearly as HINDRI said does in no way guarantee you a parking place. There are aprox. 14, maybe 15 parking places…two which are handicapped ones …and that’s if everyone parks tightly. Daddy has often gone to go to work crabbing or oystering and not been able to find a spot, and he has lived there his whole life. …even had to dump the boat and go park it at home. And yes…even if you park elsewhere you need a permit…it says for launching and parking by permit only.

Besides the half dozen or so crabbers who work out too there…there’s oyster men now too and several charter captains. Parking s going to be rough.
It s sad that they closed the other ramps ruining fishing and shrimping for everyone wanting to go.

The people of the village are not vindictive and mean btw… They just don’t like beer cans, trash and shrimp heads in their yard…their driveways blocked, grass parked on and voices in the middle of the night…but I don’t think any one of us would like that either…as long as folks follow the rules and show respect the villagers do too. Stories got wide spread before about things that happened there…daddy said he didn’t ever hear about spray painted vehicles or slas

Condos repaced the crab house. Im not sure
whats on the parking area/field. I think the permit
costed $45. The landing was free to
boat landing. THE GOOD OLE DAYS!

There are four houses on the “dike” where the crab house that processed crabs once stood. The rest are lots that have been sold. No condos in mcclellanville…yet…and I hope there never are. That would make me sad :frowning:

Mrs Penny,

Pleazzzzzeeee, there are rules for MCVL Folks and rules for the rest of us.

Not all but most of them, its how they roll, no big deal goes on lots of other places.
