I noticed on the Buck Hall Fee Envelope Box 10 which is labeled “Interagency Senior or Access or Golden Passport #”. I happen to have a National Park Service Senior Pass so I wondered if it was applicable to Box 10 and if so, what did it mean? I called the Francis Marion National Forest office (they oversee Buck Hall) and talked to a Park Service employee. It was an easy quick answer. If you have National Park Service Pass, write the pass number in Box 10 and pay half price parking fee. The posted parking fee is $7 so with discount parking is $3.50 per visit.
I have been shrimping from Buck Hall for many years. I’ve had the National Park Senior Pass for over 7 years. So I have been over paying parking for a long time. They do not have this discount posted on the board where you deposit the parking fee. So the bottomline message here is if you have a National Park pass you can pay half the parking fee. You are eligible for Senior Pass at age 62. Cost is $80.
Great information on the passes. Do you know if I can leave my trailer and truck in parking overnight? I plan on spending the night on my boat, Id stay in the campground put its always full.
