Thinking of hitting the Capers nearshore reef to let the kids catch some fish on Sunday.
Looking for advice on getting from Buck Hall to the reef through Bulls Bay. I can also put in at Shem or IOP marina if needed.
Obviously tidal dependent and wouldn’t do so on either end of the low, but any other concerns with shifting sand bars, etc?
If you were staying nearshore, any preference between Capers and the Charleston nearshore?
I run a 20 ft Key West that drafts about 18+ inches loaded.

If it were me, I would use the IOP boat ramp and run out of Dewees Inlet, ~10 miles straight out.

Down here is where a signature goes but they can confuse and anger some people so I don’t have one.
I was thinking about doing the same thing. I normally put in at IOP and head out Dewees like Fritz said when fishing Capers, but last I checked I believe reefcast was showing ne 10-15 for Sunday at Capers. We’re going to stay in the creeks Sunday.

I agree with Fritz but the forecast is not favorable for Sunday.
Yep, may have to reevaluate. Sailflow is showing between 10+ our of the NE with 1ft building to 2 at 4 sec. Sounding choppy?

If you do go out of the inlet, you may need to turn south for a distance before heading toward Capers, depending on tide and breakers. Capt. Fritz or someone more familiar can probably coach you on this?
