Buddy Boat Sunday

We’re headed out Sunday. Straight towards Commanche/Y73 then lines in at 150’. If any of you other Mosquito Fleet members will be out there feel free to hail the “Local Cluster”. Will clear jetties around 7am. We are a daylight crew.

We are fishing Sunday and leaving early…prob 4 AM. Call us on the radio on 16/65. Will prob fish straight out and start around 500 ft or so

I am most likely going out there too . I will also be going early, and a little further south . I will start around the ledge. Makes me feel good that other boats will be out there. I will be on 65

Still looks like a go for the Local Cluster. Windy now but it’s been doing exactly what they said it would do. Let’s hope it lays down tonight as expected and give us that 5-10 out of the South tomorrow.

Local Cluster will be on 16/65 too.

Bigfishin’ and Just Released, you’ll get the early jump on us, go get 'em!

Well, the Local Cluster made a tactical error and stayed on the hill Sunday. When I checked the buoy early Sunday things and not calmed down as much as I had hoped. With a 21’ CC we have to be real careful, but by 9am I was kicking myself. Hung my head all day. Hope the others had a great day.Hopefully next weekend.

Sailflow showed it dieing down around 8am and getting better later…

I wish i could have gone but gotta keep the piece at home…

Your judgment is sound. In a 21 ft boat, there is no room for mistakes. Plenty more mosquito fleet days ahead and the mahi aren’t going anywhere!!

Local cluster we went out and caught a few dolphin in our 21 footer and it was fine but I’ve called it off at 4am so many times (last Sunday most recently). Its good to go with your gut and if anyone ever has the slightest reservation we don’t roll. Period.

It was snotty but doable, I’d say you made a wise choice. We stopped in 80ft and bottomed fished just because no one was enjoying the ride out. Ride in on following sea was a little better, always better safe than sorry
