My son and I good day in the Buffalo Creek area today! We pulled big shiners and gizzard shad from just above the public ramp to the Marina we made several trips back and forth. We missed about a half dozen hits, released 5 shorts and had 5 keepers ranging from 22 to 28 inches. Most fish were marked in the 20 foot range give or take a couple feet. We had hits on boards, corks, freelines, and downrods. We were pulling at .3 to .7 mph. I was putting about 15 to 20 foot of line behind the boards and corks and fished 10 to 14 feet deep on the down rods. Great day on the water except getting buzzed by bass boats every 5 to 10 minutes. Fished from 8:30 to 1:00
I was in the bass boat that left and then came back in in about an hour. My buddy’s trim was acting up and he had already got a speeding ticket on the way there and he dropped his phone in the boat and broke it so we called it a day pretty quickly. Congrats on the fish. I waved when we went by but didnt realize it was another forum member at the time.

Question about Buffalo … what were you marking? Were you marking concentrations of bait and/or fish or were you only marking sporadic fish?
I went to pull in Buffalo yesterday and got chased out of there by a WATER SKIER??? Seriously?? Who in their right minds water skis in 50 degree water …
lawcrusher… inside elbow’s of the creek bottom. the stripes corner the bait & then really hammer them ! Ya’ll don’t tell too many people. I ya’ll see me out there ,ask and I will point out an almost always’s cove holding fish (really not too hard to find- sound’s like control freak found it - congrat’s CF …tight line’s to all ! )
No It was not me at plantation. I was marking some bait and fish not as much as I would have liked but it was enough that I could not pass up a shot at pulling some baits around if that makes sense. I am one that If I see some fish I am gonna give them a shot even if it is not exactly what I am looking for I cannot ride by without trying . There may be only a couple fish there but it might be a 25 pounder. That is how I approach deciding where to fish.
