Built my wife a boat

For her birthday. She’s always wanted me to build one completely natural bright finished, so I did just for her. Okume mahogany plywood and solid mahogany trim. Just a little scaled down. To give credit to the designer, It’s a Jacques Mertens GF16, scaled down 60%.

Once completed I had to do some stability tests of course.

Dog says he wants a bigger boat.

I think she’ll like this

Larry, where is she supposed to sit:question:

That’s cool. You’re a lucky man. My girlfriend wants a Fountain.

Thats pretty sweet Larry!!! You are a man of many talents.

“Boatless”

The last time I saw that “boat” it was not quite finished and was being used as a shelf. That looks great Larry!

Thanks, it did turn out pretty nice.

Yes, about 15 years old and looking a little rough.

Thanks, yes I started it almost 2 years ago when I was between projects, then got a real boat to build and 25 gallons of epoxy that needed a storage shelf, so that’s what it’s done for a while is store fiberglass supplies. Finally finished that boat, and this one.

Larry, how did your throttle lock, on that boat you built come out:question:

Not finished it yet Easy, but we’ve got the details worked out. Boat is having a leaning post and T-top made for it now. Once that is finished we’ll river test it to determine the height of the stop block.
