Bull Point at Trenchards Inlet

I’m trying to plan a trip to do some kayak fishing as well surf/shark fishing. My final destination has not been set yet but I wanted to know if anyone has experience with Bull Point and could tell me how far or how difficult it would be to yak out there from Station Creek landing. I am interested in spending a couple days there so I need to know if camping is allowed.

Thanks for your help.

It is a pretty long paddle… About 4 miles each way I would guess.

Better would be to either launch from Lands End…

Either that, or try the Fripp Inlet or Harbor Island Inlets near Hunting Island.

Thanks for the reply YotF. Station Creek looked to be the closest launch point on the map I have and according to Google Earth about 6.6 miles one way. That was alittle farther than I was hoping for. Launching from Fripp Inlet at Russ Point is even farther. I may have to consider staying shore bound and hitting one of the state parks or checking into Capers Island.

Any and all suggestions are appreciated. My goal is to find a place I can stay and do some night time shark fishing and kayakking as well.

YotF,

Are you saying to launch from Lands End to go to Bull Point? I also would like to know which landing my truck would be the safest parked overnight. I have not been to the area but it looks like Lands End launches into PRS and Station Creek is behind St Phillips Island.

Thanks again for your help.

I mentioned Land’s End due to paddle distance from the beach access point, which is really only perfect for launching a kayak…

As for parking, no idea where… I personally wouldn’t want to leave over night at Station Creek either though.

I would recommend getting a Camp Site at Hunting Island State Park, and using that as a base camp… Not sure about camping at Bull Point legalities… Perhaps Cutmullet will interpose his knowledge of this.

When you plan to come here, let me know. I live close by and might be able to break free to fish myself.

Thanks YotF, I have been doing searches and noticed that Cutmullet seems to be the resident camper around here. Thanks for all your help. Tenative plans are sometime during the week of the 10th. Not sure yet if it will be the 11th-13th or the weekend. I will let you know. I will check into the state park.

Great timeing… A friend from the Upstate will be down at Fripp that week, and is bringing his yak… PM Me, and I will send you my phone number…

Then possibly get you two together to fish out around there. I am heading out with him this Sunday…
