Am wanting to tackle up and try for some bull reds…from the pics posted, looks like a heavy duty spinning real is real of choice…any recommendations on reels, rods, line will be appreciated…

15-30+lb braid on a 4000+ series spinning reel with whatever rod you got will work, with 3/0+ circle hooks. Caught 40" plus fish all week on a 4000 stradic with 30lb braid and a loomis gl2 rod, but that’s about as light as you wanna go with em’, you wanna catch the fish, not kill it.

I use Penn Conquer 7000 with International Torque Jigging rods, spooled with 50#…light enough for my 7yr old to hanlde while we jig , enough backbone to haul in the ‘bull reds’ you are targeting
