Big Bonzo and I hit the road at 7:AM heading North on 17…41 degrees when we left Jimmy Isle…37 when we hit the Sewee Outpost…holy **** I didn’t bring enough clothes…shivered for a few minutes but as the sun came up it warmed very nicely…were the first boat to the spot and in very short order had our cooler of the biggest shrimp I have seen this year…Big Bonzo asked me to cull out some smaller ones for bait and I replied “but Lt. Dan, you ain’t got no legs.”…we had no small ones so 3 doz of the biggest shrimp went in the livewell…back to the ICW and found a close shell bank with a small creek on the rising tide…first cast, trout…second cast, trout…this continued for over an hour and we kept 7 trout, biggest was 17" and one nice black drum…then my dad catches and releases a 28" bass and we called it a day…couldn’t have gotten much better so we quit on top…can’t say when I have enjoyed a trip on the water as much as I enjoyed being with my dad…wish I could tell a story like Penny, but she should feel some comfort knowing a guy at the Sewee Outpost asked me about my “trailer frog” ornament and I said well, you know when a friend plays a trick on you then you have good luck with it and decide it is not worth changing? yep, that was Penny’s trick on me…
now tht is the type of cooler that i used to get and see from the bay. i hope to get down there maybe next week. hat to ask but north or south side? it is a long hall from lexington and gets expensive. i am giving ms. joanne a call at carolina seafood and make sure that they have shrimp. that way i can put them in my cooler and come back and tell any lie that i want to, ha ha ha
outside Venning Creek…would you call that middle bay?
you are in my sector and I don’t like it one bit.
I registered with your office…they said they would make you aware and notify in case of any conflict…I gave them a 3 minute head’s up…what else do you want?
that wasn’t you we let borrow the net was it? nice looking fella, 4 tween kids and friends in the boat, not catching ****…
I envy the time you get to spend with your dad. What a wonderful day you got to have, thanks for sharing with us! I think I’m well enough to try and come down this weekend. Gotta see what the doc says this afternoon. Sure miss time on the water…
