Had to search hard for the shrimp. Ended up finding them way west of where they have been recently, and in much deeper water.

Is that about half a cooler? Glad to see there are still some left in the Bay. We may give it a go next week. Thanks for the post.
That cooler is 64qt (I think). I have a 48qt mark on it and we were full to that mark, so it was a limit.

A couple of “shrimp mammys” in there too. Surprised no one has noticed them. Anyone ever eat them? Someone told me they taste like lobster

quote:I have eaten some mantis shrimp from a trip last year. I found them VERY challenging to eat due to the fact that the meat in the tail is in chambers going perpendicular to the tail. I think I remember them being kinda mushy as well. I won't be eatin em any more. Give em a shot and report back.

We used to trade the mamis to a Chinese place by the house. A triple delight and some sesame chicken always made my fingers feel better.
They look like girl shrimp compared to what we caught in the bay yesterday!
Mr. Shrimp, how did yall do, in the bay yesterday? Full cooler?? North or South??

Heather,
I love the photo. However, I wouldn’t mess with the mantis shrimp. Too much trouble and they don’t taste that good. Probably best for bait, but I don’t know what fish would eat them…
