Bulls Bay by Pioneer

looked at one of these the other day (the 200) and seems to be a decent boat that can be had in the mid 20’s after all the dust settles. Its made by Pioneer and is apparently the “value engineered” line they are introducing. Does anyone have any thoughts or comments on the boat? I’ve been looking at a bunch of used boats in the 15k range but may move in this direction if i can get out the door in the low 20’s. Also for whatever reason the pricing on it with a Honda is significantly lower than the Yamaha yet the dealer says the Honda is s#%t and they wont sell it with a Honda…??? I’ve never heard anything negative about the Honda BF150.

It would be nice to pull it with a truck like this too , http://www.southernmotorcompany.com/story/
$55,000 . I saw one sitting in a high school parking lot Friday . I had to stop and look . The trucks are made in the upstate.

Sorry I don’t have info about the boat you are looking at .

yes very nice truck. anyone have any comments on the Bulls Bay???

I’ve look at them several times and they are impressive looking boats. Seem to be well build and come endorsed by some folks I highly respect. I know several people that have taken the 15’ model lots of places I wouldn’t and it has handled the water well (according to them). They do seem to be well made when I climbed all over the one they had at Berkeley Outdoors in Monks Corner. I really like th large front deck.

I want to see the 17! any one know when/if that is still in the works?

I am swingin through the 'boro this week, wish I could get in there to get a peek…

well i ended up buying it last night. got a great deal on it! Can’t wait to pick it up this weekend

very solid boat!

Roy and Mike run things right over there.
Locally built, properly engineered and designed. And they stand behind their products like few folks do nowadays.

I have only spent a little time in the 15, but if the 20 is like the 15 and/or the Pioneers, then it will be a heck of a boat. Solid feel and handling and dry. Can’t say enough about the quality of their work. They HATE shortcuts and want to see their products last a lifetime.

My dad and I chopped down a larger boat one time to make a wide 14 footer with a huge bow flare and casting deck to be able to shrimp in or run across big water comfortably without needing a big boat that was heavy and costly to operate. Nobody sold a boat like what he wanted. It was either a straight skiff, a lake style boat or a heavier center console. The smaller bulls bay boats are exactly what we were looking for but couldn’t find back then…

if you want factory (Bulls Bay) stuff you will have to go to Barrier Island. Those guys do great work!

congrats on your purchase and welcome to the pioneer family. please join us at pioneerownersclub.com

Just bought a 2011 Bulls bay 200 with a Yamaha 115 Four Stroke pushing her, I love it, Plenty of storage and lots of deck space to move around on. Had it out on the bay last weekend with four persons on board and our gear and we where eopping out at about 40mph and with the 60 gallon fuel tank we were getting about 5mpg and ran all day. I did add 2 fishing seat playes on the rear between the livewell and the storage compartment. Had to install a horn, didn’t come wih one and the base model at the dealer I purchased it from didn’t have a trim gauge on it either. I am happy with it!

have had the 200 for about 3 weeks now and absolutely love it. great boat. TONS of room, gets up on a plane fast, cuts through chop very nicely and is a very well laid out boat. couldn’t be happier with the purchase. If you’re in the market for a new boat I’d have a look at these as they really are a good value right now. Wife loves it too as it truly seats 6-7 so we can use it to take the kids out / drag them around on a tube etc.

Did you get yours from Barrier Island on Hwy 17? I drove by there today and saw a green one next to the road,it looked really nice, but at a 50mph speed I could not get a real good look.
When I first saw it I thought it was a high tide, cause it looked like the same hull type.
Since I live about 7 miles from the plant I will have to go and check it out, maybe tommorrow.

Double D.

I did not get it from them. The numbers they quoted were pretty decent though. Have had the boat about a month now and freaking love it. Really a well built boat and works perfect for what we wanted.
