son jeremy, his buddy travis and i hit the bay around 10am sat. it was a little choppy but sunny. did some blind casting n. side with no luck. went to the s. side and set up not far from the bottom edge of bull island. high tide was around 11:30. nobody at the landing had caught more than two shrimp. four or five boats out there had none. we ended up with 18 total shrimp. if there had been a tournament we would have won hands down. anyway; i am not just another pretty face. coming from lexington i called carolina seafood early morning and had him hold me 100# 21-25. these would have been 16-20 but there were a few mediums mixed in. mr. rut gave me a great price and we were back home and had all headed and packed in the freezer in rubbermaid 5.2cup containers before 10pm. not much on the catching but jeremy’s buddy learned about the shrimping and we had one heck of a lot of fun on the water. was not a wasted trip at all. guess i will try again next year.
p.s.
used bait binder for the first time. it held together really well. i picked up a couple of balls about three hours in and they were still almost whole. west marine in cola has the big bag on sale for $20/small$10. he is wanting to get rid of it.
