Thinking about exploring Bulls Bay this weekend. Taking food water and cover in case we get stuck. Any advice for Redfishing. Thinking about using Buck Hall landing.
There are many feeder creeks all around that area. Tons of structure in most of them. I would go at or before low tide to do a recon of the area to pick some spots to try. As for the bay itself, be prepared to get grounded. You can be running in 10’ of water one minute and then 1’ the next.
The landing itself is nice. Costs $5. Ample ramps and good courtesy docks, limited close parking but ample overflow a short walk. Buck Hall will put you at the north end of Bulls Bay.
I have been doing the same with a friend who knows Bulls Bay following him around trying to learn. Got stuck on a oyster bar last trip but got off quickly. You may want some type of push pole on boat. We crossed bay last trip to get behind island & it was about 4hrs. past low & it was 2-3 ft. in spots. You can use Garris landing if u have someone with you. No dock to tie boat up & shallow at low tide but it is free & parking is not issue when I have gone. If coming from Mt. Pleasant it is 10 miles closer than Buck Hall. Turn at SeeWee Outpost & go 5 miles. We have been going 1-2 hours after dead low & fished with live or dead bait on floats & carolina rig. You can fish some dock on left when u leave ramp going north on waterway. Nice spots but very differcult place. Not much help but good luck!

It’s something I put together last during last shrimping season. I’m not sure if I have it in a higher resolution, but I could probably photoshop it larger if needed.

Here’s the same map without grid lines.
Probably ask some guys that know about specific grid patterns and you’ll probably do ok. I’ve only ventured as far as white banks.

If you’re fishing bulls bay, I would bring some larger gear for tarpon. Haven’t heard too many reports of them this year but they’re here!
Another good thing about buck hall is that they have a live on site person at the camping area…so less breaking and stuff…also a neat place to camp…but the mosquitoes might be a bit bad right now. Also…if you go to the forestry service office and are a senior you can get a golden years pass for 12.00. It’s got for any federal park or ramp. Daddy has one and when we went to the pistachio national forest park it got us all in free as his guests. You can also buy a yearly pass for buck hall which is discounted for senior citizens and certified disabled people too.
I think garris landings gate gets locked at night…so if you are too late or too early…you might really be " stuck".

From what daddy said…it’s any Federal park ,ramp or facility. So you’d have to check with them I guess about that one. Still a good deal no matter how you looks at it!
