When these skiffs came out I was under the impression they were pretty affordable…I think Charleston marine sold a few…I called BI Marine who is selling them now and just a simple setup was running about 19k…I think the tiller models were even in the mid teens…When you search for these boats online I have found them to run about 11k-15k and that is with the console…Why the dramatic price increase…And any one have a suggestion on a tiller model similar but maybe less in price…
You might want to stop by and check with them in person. I was down there 3 weeks ago pricing one, boat, motor and galv. trailer was mid teens. I can’t find my actual quote but I wanna say it was just under 16k. I’m going to get 1 for shrimp’n.
i looked at one too a year ago. i couldn’t afford it. i liked alot of the features and layout.
have you guys seen the Inshore PowerBoats we now have
base model tiller handle galvanized trailer starts at $9999.99
fully rigged with center console and poling platform $15k
The production boats market has changed- as have the dealers for production boats.
A perfect example is a former dealer of brand A on a thread about brand A, but the dealer is not talking about brand A.
From what I understand, Carolina Composites (builders of Pioneer boats) didn’t make much on the Bulls Bay skiffs when they first put them out there. The point of those boats was initially to put something smaller and more marketable out there as folks weren’t really into buying brand new 17-22ft boats with all the left over stock dumped on the market from failed dealer contracts, which normally had to do with floor plans and financing problems. Now that the excess supply of boats is out of the way and banks are acting a little more reasonable again (and you see the employee parking lots at scout, key west, sea fox, pioneer, etc. full again) the price has gone up to let the builders have a more reasonable margin.
I’m just speculating there going off rumors I’ve heard as well as being told directly by who builds the BB skiffs that “we didn’t make hardly anything on them, but dealers wanted product that someone didn’t need to fill out a finance ap in order to buy…”
The boats are still made, and they are awesome little rigs. I hope to have one to shrimp out of myself whenever I get my “big boat” project out of the way.

You lost me Phin. What are you talking about?
Set the trap boys, we going to pass through them again!!
Chris, what size motor is that for 15k? Also what kind and make of trailer?
I looked at inshore power boats when I purchased mine, just found a better deal elsewhere

Looks like Chris V has the same deal - except the trailer is galv. versus aluminum (shown in the picture) and no push pole and pole clips. Chris - does this include the poling platform for $9,999?
Pretty good deal on a new rig.

casting deck???
the $9999 comes with
front deck
rear deck
nav lights
galvanized wesco trailer
25 hp tiller electric start
6 gallon fuel tank
24 series marine cranking battery
unfortunately the price increases on motors, trailers, fiberglass, etc, means to keep the price down, we have to make cuts somewhere
the $15k is a 40hp 4 stroke electric start with tilt trim
Sounds like a good deal Chris !

Can you add a built in livewell? Sounds like its not any cheaper than a BB 151 to me
and the BB is built local.
Im also interested in one if it had a live well/release well. I like the extra foot of length. How does the width compare to the BB? Chris, which models do you have at your place?
