Could one of you fine folks please clue me in as to what exactly The south end of Bulls Bay is and where I might start looking for shrimp? I have been shrimping for 20 years, mainly at Bennett’s Point with an occasional trip mixed in to Bulls Bay (North End) every Blue moon. Typically I put in at Buck Hall.
Got skunked Sat and heading down tomorrow and was looking to try something different. Not looking for anyone’s honey hole, just some general info on where and what to look for.
When you come out in the open Bay Area follow channel which runs about 45 degrees to your left heading out into open waters . Depending on the wind you can shrimp to he left or the right of the channel. You will see many boats out there . Put in at Garris landing or run up from IOP or down from buck hall.
Last year there were many boats deep holing in the channel going out with great success. Happy shrimping and I hope you get a cooler full
From Garris go N up the ICW for about 1/4 mi till you see a long white shell bank. Hard right after that, go very slowly at this point until you are in Anderson creek and the depth increases. From there, you are good just stay in the middle. Once you get in the bay you will see Bull Island straight ahead. Aim at the left most tip of the island and that should keep you in the trough of Anderson creek. Look for the muddiest water you can find and be careful. Many have spent the night there unintentionally.
