Bulls Bay

Just checking to see if anyone is fishing in bulls bay, and what you guys are catching ???

We went out 2 Saturdays ago and caught 5 sharp nose and 5 cow nose rays and 1 whiitting. That was on the incoming tide

I fished it last weekend until the current pushed me over the oyster beds and I had to use my push pole to get out. (first time fishing that area). No luck, fished artificials, z-man shrimp multiple colors, jerk shad, bucktail jigs, popping cork, spoons, flies, everything I had. Unfortunately, there seemed to be no bait anywhere so that is the one thing I didnt try. Fished the intracoastal from BuckHall down to Sewee Bay no fish. 3 buddies in their own boats fishing different areas, no fish. One stingray. Most everyone we talked to had the same sort of luck.

Yea bulls bay the best place in SC everyone go fish there this weekend. If you arnt fishing there your not cool and wont catch ****. Bulls bay sucks just tons of sharks. The wando is by far better for trout, spot tails, and flounder. Bulls bay is way over rated and nothing special.

The ICW around Bulls Bay is pretty good.

Inside Bulls Bay is dangerous if you don’t know your way around.

I’ve been running to the bay to get away from all the “shemcreekers” that have invaded my area over the last month or so. Some days are better then others. Mostly catching Redfish under popping corks while drifting the banks.

Bulls bay is a great place to catch people if thats what ur fishing for. Way to many people up there.

Best sheephead and black drum fishing I ever had was very near Bull Bay. Some excellent fishing nearby.

Fritz,
What kind of bait you fishing under the cork now, mud minnows? We were out last Friday and the bait was still a little scarce.

I live on the ICW at Bulls Bay. During shrimp season there will be a fair number of boats out in the flats, but other than that, It’s unusual to see more than one boat and it’s usually a trawler or some other large boat just traversing the waterway heading North. In 3 years I’ve seen I DNR boat up here and of course got hailed down to check for safety equipment and fishing licenses. Nice as could be. He said that given their manpower, Bulls Bay is very low on it’s importance, because of the limited number of boats on the water.
Correction: During the summer, I may see 5 or 6 boats if I’m out 4 or 5 hours.
