Went out Saturday in a buddies hydraskiff and the weather killed us. Caught 1 whiting. Sunday was beautiful so I made a run into the harbor with the bassboat because that’s what I have. 2 bulls 35” and 40”. Check out the action. Live finger mullet on chicken rigs and Carolina rigs.
Can’t get pics to load but made a video and posted to YouTube. Subscribe to my channel if you like for more videos in the future.
I like that modification to the Carolina rig. I use a similar set up when I’m fishing my heavier rods. The egg sinker can really beat up your main line. Especially if I hook a big ray and have to wrestle him off the bottom.
It’s nice to see you taking the bass boat out there. I have an aluminum
Bass boat as well, and while I don’t mind putting it in the salt, the trailer is another story. What type of trailer do you have and where do you put in?
Beneskew I have a regular trailer that comes with a bass boat, it has gotten a lil rusty but oh well not very bad though for having been in and out of salt for 2 years now… I wash the trailer and boat and flush the motor every outing. It’s an old boat 96’ as is motor and trailer. Worst case is I buy a new trailer or replace springs and axel down the road. I put in shem creek usually because I like to fish harbor on slack tides and creeks behind Sullivan’s while the water is moving. Have put in remeleys as well. My buddy used to take a couple jugs of fresh water and rinse his trailer after he launched his bass boat in salt.
