Bulow Boat ramp

I’m going to go ahead and reserve this thread right here as the official *****ing and complaining thread about Budlow once it becomes private for the nearby neighborhood too…its only a matter of time now.

Feel free to discuss amongst yourselves…

Trust me…its coming:

Is this a new ramp sponsored by Anheuser Busch? Or are you referring to Bulow landing?

before poplar grove was built, Bulow had a reputation for being a not very hospitable boat landing. Now that Poplar Grove is there, it seems to be a more popular landing but it shouldn’t be taken over by the development. If they want a private landing then they should build one on their own property. They shouldn’t take over one built with public tax money.

Just wait and see…

…And to answer your first question, my Dad used to always call it Budlow being funny…it always stuck with me.

Wow its been a hot minute since i’ve launched the kayaks there. That amount of development is bananas

Its actually more than what that picture shows too. That area north of the road is all staked out for home sites as well. There’s a large “amenities center” adjacent to the actual ramp that is bringing in a lot of neighborhood traffic as well. Its just a matter of time unfortunately…

I remember all the “not Popular” signs a good few years ago plastered all over the roads in that area. Ate many a lunch at that landing watching the bank fishermen and a few that attempted to launch too big a boat at low tide.

Crazy the development over the last couple of years!!

Not that I ever use that landing, but I hope you are wrong on it becoming private. I think it would take a lot of pull to block access on a county road and landing.

“Why Bruce?”

Killed a few nice ducks back there a GOOD while back. Was kinda peaceful back then.

Didn’t the county just buy like 200 more acres around the boat landing?

I remember a couple of years ago when the developer tried to put up a gate and the county stopped them…hopefully the county’s desire to provide water access to the property it just purchased will outweigh the developer’s concerns over “loud parties” after dusk. Maybe the developer’s desires to limit access will encourage the county to upgrade and beautify the landing.

But in all reality, when was the last time any of you used that landing?

I used it between 20-25 times last year. Its only a few minutes from my house.
