Bushy 30 March 2019

Almost missed my tide. New powerhead is still making oil. Just had my 20hr maintenance and already 1 3/4” above the top dot. Pulled out excess oil, filled an oil hub, and added air to all 4 tires. Never enough time.

Water 62 degrees.
Tried working some flats I found fish on in the winter. Plenty of bait moving around but no big pushes. I’ll keep coming back to see when they return.

Moved into a small creek. Pulled 30+ fish.
Highlights are a sight casted 26” red, 20” trout with very few spots. Older ragged looking fish but thick and healthy, and a 14 3/4” tagged redfish. Which turns out was the smallest red of the day.

Plenty of slot and upper slot reds. Trout were all nice sized. hitting hard and fighting harder. Lots of head shaking.

Seems the fish are still packed up. Find one, you found the group with reds and trout mixed together.

Finished the day making a full WOT run up around Cypress and back down to Bushy freshwater ramp. Waiting to see if the rings will seat before or after the powerhead blows. Hoping before.

I hope your oil is still thick enough to work properly.Good job getting on the fish despite the problem with your motor.

Check to make sure you thermostat is closing all the way. Running cold causes the engine to run rich and cause fuel dilution.
