Fished outgoing tide Sunday afternoon. Creeks were 86-87 degrees.
Was only rained on 7 different times. Thunderstorms really brought on a light show. Cloud to ground and Cloud to cloud back to back.
Reds were small and underslot but ambitious, 2 small flounder, and a couple bass in the 1-2lb range.
Biggest fish of the day was a tailwalking Largemouth who spit the hook while I was trying to dig the net out. Guessing close to 4lbs.
Negative tide was low enough I couldnt get back to my normal spots but the bait seemed plentiful.
Large Reds have been missing this summer, just not in their normal spots. Going back to look some more on Thursday.
Last night was a little better, fished the main channel and pulled a few upper slot reds.
Moved into a creek and loaded up on small bass. Non stop action for the last hour before low tide. Bite shut off at sunset/low tide.
I just got back from BP. I targeted big reds ,no luck, tried for jacks, nothing, ended up catching a bunch of small reds on light tackle.Helped a crabber that let his boat get away from him.He was helping the crabber that had a relative die out there the other day.Anyone have an idea how long it takes for a spotail to grow from 13 to 15 inches? I know there are some scientists out there.
