Well it seems that my MO for this spring is… go out catch one blue cat and spend the rest of the day trying to find trout and reds… I paddled back to my new creek that I am liking more and more and discovered my spot was occupied. Not by another angler but by a 8-9 foot gator [:0] I backed up and figured I’d share the hole with him but he decided I was worth checking out and when he started inmy direction I beat paddle and left him to have the spot…
Got back out to the river and met up with Too Busy. VERY nice home made yak by the way.
We set up and despite the anchor incident we had a pretty good time. We made our way back to a “non-specific” creek and fished some “non-specific” areas of said creek with nuttin… Beautiflul day and nice paddle. Met a new fishin buddy and spent the day on the water so all in all the day was a outstanding success even though the fish decided to stay away.

Key learning from yesterday
Tie off the end of the anchor rope FIRST, THEN toss the anchor. [:I] I’m glad it was just a few old cast net weights and some 550 cord
I had a great time and met a new fishing buddy. Can’t wait to get out again.
So much water, So little time

Fished the motorboat out that way for few hrs today with not even a bite.
Whew! Am glad it wasn’t just me
I can’t believe how low the water got on Sunday… NEVER seen it that low… on the way out to the river the right side was high and dry about 50 feet from the grass and in a few places the mud was high and dry about 100 feet out. And this was all at about mid tide… I should have gone nack out at low to see how low it went…

Pulled out at around 5pm admist 3 boats stuck in the mud. I was kind enough as I paddled by to inform a young man what the buzzer noise he was hearing. Seems that mud doesn’t cool the engine very well.
No fish today:face_with_head_bandage:

closer to 6pm
