Bushy Park 7/23 (Pics)

Took my youngest son out to Bushy this morning for some fishing. Hit the landing a few hours before dead low and fought the mud out to the main river. Threw the net and put 1/2 dozen finger mullet in the livewell and a few shrimp. Next spot put about 30 peanut hadens in there with 'em (threw back about 40). Fished several spots with no action, then landed a small red that was released. Then son’s rod went off and into the boat comes a nice 18 1/2" slottie. Heat was bad enough that we were done by 1:00. Came home and got the boat cleaned up in time for some fresh fish for dinner. A great day on the water.

Forgot to add that Bandit, my Boykin, was kept entertained by watching the bait in the baitwell. He tried several times to snack on one of the baits.

SCFisherman is spot on. It was very hot out on the water. Take plenty of water and sports drinks and stay hydrated.

Looks like you got the boat cleaned up some. Need to give you call to line up some trips.
