Bushy Park April 12th Spottail and Trout

Fishing is finally getting more consistent in the lowcountry. Our fishing club Palmetto Sportfishers fished our monthly tournament this past Saturday and our targets were Spottail and Trout. All together about 12-13 spottail were caught and 1 trout. Most of the spottail were either too large or too small, however 4 legal spottail were weighed and released. The trout appeared to be pre-spawn as well. Very large belly on her.

Yellowhouse seemed to have the most action, with live Mud Minnows under a Carolina Rig. A few were caught on frozen shrimp. Bait is starting to come up in the creeks. Turkey Creek was good on the last bit of the falling tide. I hope that the next few weeks will bring some more mullet into the creeks.
