Bushy Park at low tide

The idea of a new ramp with better parking is very appealing. The only area with in a mile is on Big Island. Hang a left in the river from Bushy and the first bend on the left where the channel marker is. The wooded area. Shallow water, but navigable. big sand bar above it. If you look at the north side where the old ramp and whats left of a pier is very deep water and probably owned by the plant that sits there. Look likes road construction, parking lot, new ramp and possibly re-use the old docks. Unless that property is donated, $400,000 seems out of the question. If you go above the industrial area about 1.5 miles, you have to build a longer access road. Still it would be nice. Attached a pic of Big Island area.

Maybe the $400,000 is for the ramp and docks only.
Everything else will be funded seperately. The road and parking lots my be paid for with different funds, grants, and other ways the Govt. allocates funding for these types of projects.
Regardless of how they get the money, it sure would be nice to have direct parking and not have to walk across a 55mph road.

No doubt, Bushy needs dredging. But until then, I’ll just have to keep track of the tides and wind as if I’m fishing a flat on a falling tide. In the event you have to come back when your boat cannot make it back to the ramp, the other option is what I call the “historic freshwater flush”. It’s about a 30 minute ride running 30mph or so to drive all the way around to the freshwater side of the landing. It’s a peaceful ride and you can give your boat a refreshing sip of water to your motor, bilge, and livewell pumps in the event your 5yr old daughter has to get home to dance cause daddy forgot about it…LOL! I hope it gets dredged and appreciate all the help from everyone on the matter.
