Has anyone heard anything further about dredging out bushy park?
No, but I came to the landing at negative low today at Mach 3 with my fingers crossed, shooting a brown rooster tail. Came off plane at the floater and set down in the mud! Thats as close as I have cut it and I’m very very lucky to not have gotten stuck

I hear ya. I have an older center console that doesn’t go Mach 3. I don’t even mess with it past mid tide. It’s a shame. Very nice facility that we can’t use.

Berkeley county has decided to postpone processing of the permit because they don’t have a spoil disposal site. I expect they will pick it back up when the Yellow house disposal site reopens.

Berkeley county has given up on Bushy Park. Rumor has it they have purchased a new parcel of land on the Cooper close to Bushy Park and will eventually open a new boat ramp. Can you imagine how long the permitting, and environmental studies will take. Maybe our Grandchildren will enjoy. The Berkeley county supervisor knows, as well as the Berkeley county engineer.
If we could get enough fishermen, crabbers, hunters, skiers, and water lovers together at one time we could make a stand. However, we have far too many that wait for someone else to do the work. Ring the phone off the hook in county supervisor Peagler,s office.
I believe if you will care to check the money was available and had been approved by the previous Berkeley county supervisors office.
I was here when that ramp was built. I would care to guess, it took over twenty years to silt in.
As a matter of fact I think Senator Tim Scott, and Representative Mark Sanford might have an interest in this.

I fish there all the time but the tides don't permit at leisure fishing. You have to plan your trip. Or stay out all day......SMH

Dewater the dredged “product” in the parking area, and truck it off. No need for aa Confined Disposal Facility (CDF) $$$$. Berm the area with geotubes. Google “Stone Harbor, NJ Backbay dredging” to see how its done.

That may be possible Eric. The Broad River boat ramp access was dredged that same way a few years back. Beaufort County was reasonably able to get the permit, but the volumes for the Busy Park site are significantly higher. In my position, I can’t push any idea to an applicant but maybe some of you guys could bring that option to the table.
