Bushy Park canal

First time I launched from there the other day to get into the Cooper River. I did not realize how shallow that canal is and I was spitting mud through the pee hole.

Can anyone tell me if there is a deeper portion of the canal to cross at low tide? On the southern side or northern side? Any information would be much appreciated.

Nope. It’s that shallow. You need to launch well before low and return well after

It has been bad for several years. The push from the tugs and barges are the culprit is my understanding.Have heard they want to move the landing,it is actually a safety hazard the way it is now. IT is a real shame, because it is a nice landing.

Berkeley county has a permit application in for dredging but they don’t have a disposal area yet. Yellow house is closed for the next year or two.

As in? To dump dredged mud? I’m a little confused here, but that’s the norm…

I think I heard about the dredging issue, just hope they cab find somewhere to pump it.

Your understanding is wrong. How does a tug drafting 10ft in 30+ft of water move silt??

you can always put in at cypress gardens and enjoy the ride down the river at low tide:smiley::smiley::smiley::smiley::smiley::smiley::smiley::smiley::smiley::smiley::smiley::smiley::smiley:
