Got that early start again debating Jetties or Bushy. Felt it would be windy so I decided Bushy. Lost a nice flounder at the start but kept at it with a bit of luck and retrieve 5 and missed as many.
Before we get started fish were in livewell for about an hr or so. I was hooking up fish after fish until I caught the smallest at 12.5" and a tagged Red. Tagged four eventhouh they were marginal keepers provided I placed a small strecher to get that 1/16" or so.
Took a few image on the calm flat where I released them and they calmly wnet to the bottom and laid there until i poked hem with my rod tip. That was an inetresting moment realizing how they raise up for a strike and probably lay there eating. Just having a fishing moment. If the wind wasn’t so hi I may’ve done better. What a great day on the water.

Those are some nice flatties! It’s great you were able to tag and release a few too! One quick thing- from what I understand on the DNR’s website it says to tag them near back of the dorsal fin instead of near the head. Please correct be if I am wrong.
Glad to see you had a good day fatrat and yes screamin the tag should penetrate just below the dorsal so it locks behind the bones under the dorsal fin.
FatRat you must be fishing in my spots because I just got a redfish recapture with your name on it! I’m pretty sure I’ve caught some of yours too
Have a good day my friend

Who said reds don’t survive proper tag and release? lol Optiker I loved the story y’all posted about your tournament experience with the Red fish recapture of your partner’s tagged fish. I’m proud to be a part of the tagging program and glad others are too.
