Bushy park Fri and Sat

Hit the water with my brother Firday afternoon, we got a real late start and didn’t even get a bite. We paddled around spot tail creek and showed him the sights and decided to hit it Saturday after the kids soccer game. We got out to Bushy around 1PM on Sat and after a few throws of the net we had a few finger mullet and some menhaden and paddled out. We hit the point with no luck and decided to hit one of the creeks, I doubt this one has a name but we went up river and hit it. I plan on hitting it agin soon and if it produces again I may have to give it a name . Paddled back and found a fishy looking spot. My brother hooked up an a nice 15" red and I nabbed one about the same size, both were on MudMinnows. His was on top under a cork, mine was on the bottom. Saw a lot of moving and figured there were about 20-30 fish in that part of the creek. we threw every plastic we had. EC, Space guppy, gulp shrimp, gulp crab, white curly tails, copper paddle tails, metal flake rootbeer grubs, some saltwater assasin mud minnow looking grub, dark colors, light colors… NADA… not a thing. We paddled back out and fished all the way back to the landing and didn’t get another bite. All in all it was an awesome day, got to fish with my brother and caught a fish. The water is getting cold though… a little too cold for shorts and flip flops… I may have to break out the waders next time. I am going to try and hit it again tomorrow. I am still on the alert team so I can’t go far…

I’ll shoot you an e-mail bout the boat, but instead of reading about the reports we ought to fish sometime… I was trying to figure out how to keep myself dry and warm since the water is getting colder, my pelican is a WET boat, even with the scupper holes plugged. The summer ain;t so bad but that cold water was freezin my toes yesterday. I was thinking about some waterproof sox and wearing some goretex pant or something… I dunno… I’ll figure out sumptin! Tight lines ya’ll!
