Fished from 8 to noon and in spite of really strong wind the trout bite was steady. It seemed like every little pocket or tiny drain had a few so I just went with the tide. Total probably 30 with five or six keepers, biggest 20", didn’t keep any. Tried a lot of different plastics but trout trick was the only thing that got any action.
It’s always a great feeling when you get them figured out for the day/tide/minute. Ok, they are always changing their minds on whats tasty but you must have them dialed in. 30 is a pretty solid number.
I’ve had the best fishing I’ve ever had the past few months. Maybe after all these years I’m learning or maybe it’s dumb luck. I can say one thing for sure that has helped. I stay within a mile or so of one particular area and learn as much as I can about that area. Depths, contours, structure, etc.
