Bushy Park or Bust

Fished out of , Bushy park yesterday, (Tuesday) the incoming caught 1 trout (,underage) and got a flounder to the boat but not in the boat, he saw i was hungry and decided not to stay for supper, the water temp up the feeder creek was 49 but probably dropped by now, the wind picked up and made it exciting to say the least, and when i came in i counted over 18 pelicans hitting the water in the cove at bushy park, it was like they were in a flight formation on a bombing run, i sit and watched them for a few minutes, they put on a show, wish i had a camera, i have never seen that many hitting the water there at bushy park at one time, at least they found the fish, :flushed:

Did you fish there? If there was bait there was probably underwater predators too.

I’m so stupid, stupid, stupid stupid stupid, stupid, stupid stupid stupid, stupid, stupid stupid stupid, stupid, stupid stupid stupid, stupid, stupid stupid

(sorry, lost my mind there for a minute)

Don’t be so hard on yourself. Stupid may a bit too strong. I would go with easily distracted/amused.

No you aren’t stupid, just a little green is all  Stupid would be if you didn’t fish under the birds the next time it happens. Of course there’s nothing wrong with bird watching either. Right now bait is very limited both for the birds and the fish, and you can bet they both know where it is. Usually when birds are feeding it is started by feeding fish leaving scraps and oil slicks that attract the birds.

It never hurts to pay attention

The problem is I know better but was just caught up in the moment, and the though never entered my mind, if i am that bad at 55 i cant wait to turn 60,

I will be more attentive to my surroundings next time

Well, I’ve turned 60 and it don’t get no better  Nothing wrong with getting caught up in the moment either. After 50, we learn that it’s not really the fish we are after anyway, it all about the moments :sunglasses:

Amen

Exactly ^^

I think once you spend enough time on the water you start to learn what to look for, and even then just to be observant and open minded. For example just because the water temp is 50 or it’s sunny doesn’t mean a trout will not hit topwater. If you see a fish strike on top, try a plug. That kind of thing.

Yep, u got that right. I’m post 50 now. It’s much more about the “QUALITY OF TIME ON THE WATER THAN QUANTITY OF FISH IN THE BOAT”…
Although a good quantity of quality fish ain’t’ that bad … :sunglasses:
