Bushy Park Question

Just got a yak and am eager to give it a shot. Is it a difficult paddle to get to yellowhouse creek? Is the current bad? How long of a paddle is it? thanks for any responses!

No need to go that far really. I have never ventured farther than a couple miles from the landing and caught plenty of fish. Try the creeks near the landing…hint, hint. It is not really that far to get to Yellowhouse (~3 miles or so). I’d plan my trip around the tides though because that will make a pretty big difference. Not sure how the guard boats will respond to you paddling along there too.

The tides issue is good point. You will fine that if you use the tide and wind to your advantage you’ll spend many more hours happy on the water.

Also, I’ll look on a map I have that has lots of “put-ins” to see if there is a place hear there. You probably know that you don’t have to use just the boat ramps? Good luck with the new yak.

I’ve paddled to the intersection of Flag and Yellowhouse. Tides are usually important but in this area they kinda switch back just before the amaco dock (good fishing hole)… If I remember correctly, seems like it took about hr. each way.
