An 18" trout (Rebel Pop-R), and a flounder (white paddle-tail grub) that was a smidgen over 14".
Let me tell you what… when a trout explodes on a top-water plug less than FIVE feet from the boat, it really gets your heart pumping!

The larger trout definitely seem to prefer the topwater around there.
We need to set Isaac up with something topwater that he can just cast & reel, cast & reel…
I suspect something like a small swimbait would work for that as well, under a thunder rig. I think he’d have a lot of fish come loose with a topwater.
I really need to pick up some DOA shrimp, those are also good with cast/retrieve.
