Bushy Park, Sept 21

Took the canoe out with a friend (I’ll let him identify himself if he wants :sunglasses:), and of course my son who will turn 4 in November.

We had a fun day. Released several undersized trout, but we took home two 20" trout, an 18" red, and an 18" flounder.

Also, highlight of the day, we caught this beauty. Probably around 30" long, we didn’t measure it, just released it after the pic.

Bushy Park has beautiful mornings.

I’ll identify him!

With the exception of breaking my rod tip on the first fish of the day (a nice trout), I had a good time. Who’d-a-thunk that a flounder would hit a trout trick… on a broken rod?!

Thanks for the invite, Matt.

Craig

Thanks for coming along! It was a lot of fun. Isaac was stone cold asleep on the way home.

Any day of fishing where you bring home two night’s supper, caught and released an 8-10 pound redfish, and hardly even broke a sweat… now that’s a sweet day.

hmm that picture looks awful familiar perhaps someone texted it to me? 2 questions though 1: were the bugs as bad as when i went and 2: was isaac able to keep his rod in the water more than 2 minutes???

Great pics. Hope me and my brood have good luck there tomorrow!

Ohio, no the bugs weren’t so bad.

However, Isaac still couldn’t keep it in the water. That’s why he didn’t catch any fish lol.

That’s what it’s all about Matt. Beautiful Redfish. What did you use to catch that big Red?

Matt got his on a trout trick, I got mine on a topwater plug.

It was a good morning all around!

Yeah I only threw trout tricks. Really a good all purpose inshore lure, unless you’re after bonnets or tarpon or something lol.
