Took my my son, who will turn 4 here in a month or two, and met up with OhioNavyNuke.
We were originally going to poke around Sullivan’s Island in the canoe, but the rain last night was so crazy that we fully expected to get rained out, so OhioNavyNuke suggested we divert to Bushy Park which was much closer.
Turns out, this was a pretty good idea. We had to wait out the storm which took nearly an hour to pass, and we watched some brutal lightening in the process. However, it did pass, the lightening stopped, and the sun came out.
We ended up catching a few keeper trout, and released a few undersized trout and a beautiful red. Saw a gator, which my son was captivated (and… scared of lol, but not too bad).
The sunset was beautiful. So was the rainbow.

Well I rotated the photos in photobucket but they look sideways again. @#$%!@#$%
pretty sure we missed what at least 3 or 4 trout per person on the popping corks? just under 15" for my redfish and everything was on popping corks with mullet, trout tricks, or a mullet colored jig. probably could have walked across all the bait in some spots!

Nice to meet you guys on the take out last night. I don’t think I got on the water before 7, back at bp by 8:30. I’m thinking about going without the wife and boy tonight. They don’t seem to take the fishing as seriously as I do.

Nice to meet you too. Not sure if I can place your face, were you the one pulling out as we were getting the canoe unloaded?
yes, pulling the flats boat out when you and ONN were picking up the canoe. I think I talked to ONN for a little bit when (i think) you went to get the vehicle?

Good job, Matt. Any time you get to fish with family (or go fishin’ period), you’re playing with house money. The fish you catch are just the icing on the cake…
“I’m not a hundred percent in love with your tone right now…”
yup that was me…ha definately didnt realize you were one of the posters from here. guess that makes you the 6th person ive knowingly met from here then.
