Fishing was slow for us today. Started around 8am in the morning, high but out going on tide. Fishing electric chicken grubs and paddle tails on trout eyes in around 2 feet of water. Partner had one on early but lost it. We fished 2 more hours with 1 other bite. Ended up fishing some mud minnows on top and bottom for an hour and the only bites were from noseeums. Switched back to working some creeks with nothing for 2 more hours. Last ditch effort switched to penny colored gulp shrimp and fished about 30 minutes. Just before wrapping it up and accepting that it was a beautiful albeit slow day, I got my 2nd bite of the day in about 18 inches of water just before dead low tide…no temp, but water was clear to about 18 inches also. Fish was safely released for another day. Saw a few scattered fish in some back creeks, but couldn’t seem to get anything to bite. Hoping the weather next week starts to turn them on a little more!
slow day on the water is better than no day on the water… nice report
