took the new(to me) boat out for the first time for a shakedown trip. took the kids with the girls were just happy to be out, but my 5 year old was not real happy with my inability to put them on some fish. ended the day with a grand total of one blue catfish about 16 inches caught in the salt side by my 11 year old. all in all, had a good time just buzzing around the river with the kids. at some point, I may have to ask for some help mlocating the fish, though.

Yeah my 4 year old son wasn’t terribly happy about me catching trout and reds Friday while he caught none lol. He’s really good at throwing a rod now but he wanted to play, so I spent so much time untangling it that I made him lay it down for a good hour while I filled the cooler.
I would be glad to show you how I’ve been catching them at Bushy, except, I haven’t done well there since the temps turned. I was catching reds and trout quite well there, esp. the overslot reds.
