Bushy to Goose Ceek

Got out Friday evening and hit a few reds, flounder and pulled up to a point on the way to the landing and caught 6 nice trouts as the sun was setting (forgot camera)
Saturday morning was brutal on the fingers being cold and windy. Hooked a Bigboy that ran to deep waters as a tug was going up river. Trying to stay clear of the channel and fight this brut was interesting. After a break off finally got some fish

Trouts were nice and fat

The reds were very strong fighting fish. Hitting in 3’ of water and running to deep waters.
So Sunday ran out to GC and my partner and I had a blast catching reds out of the slot and keepers

Optiker I understand your concern to that last photo. I’ll be more cautious in the future. Both of those were slotted fish and on there way home. I do not handle fish that I tag or simply release in this manner. Thanks to all others of there thoughts

Fat rat,
What part of Goose Creek is non restricted ? Up past the first bridge u go under?
I fish that area a fair amount but never know exactly where not to fish.
Thanks

Get on Google maps. Type in 29410.
You can fish anywhere within the white dotted line.
Essentially, if one side of the creek is owned privately you can fish it. If both sides are part of the military base/govt land, you cant.

or, upstream from the beginning of the golf course.
Security boats will say “The first dock on the left after the bridge” which is the golf course.

Thanks…gonna try and figure it out later this afternoon

basspro, you’ll have to play this by era. Normally this security guy saythe first golf course on up the river no problem. They don’t want you anyway near the bridge or the coast guard landing building just as you enter goose creek. If your in the a restricted area or depends on what day how that ranges they notify you to leave the are and are nice about it. I was just ran off and at least they waited until I got my flounder in.

Thanks J.P. and Basspro a few weeks ago the same thinhg happen to quite a few of us. That’s a first and I’ve fished that area for a number of years and never happened until a few weeks ago. Like I’ve said earlier depending on who’s patrolling the area. I
