Busted my butt on Shem Creek Dock

I’ve seen many people do it, my wife has done it…people step off their boats and because the decking on the Shem Creek dock is worn, it can be like ice. Today, I took a small step off the bow of the boat onto the Shem Creek Dock and busted my a s s.

Y’all be careful on that thing.[:I]

At least you stayed dry.

they are going to be replacing most if not all of the waterfront dock on the Water’s Edge side soon…or at least they are talking about it!

Claim I feel your pain. Been there done that.

A wise man once said “Do as I say not as I do” Good advice when I tell you that.

The grooves in the dock are fine for when you’re walking down it, but not for jumping off a boat unless you come up to the end of it. I never do the leap thing and try to keep 3 points of contact hahaha. I hate when the dang ramps get you too! It’s easy to do.

I was much more careful today and didn’t crack my keester.

I have done the same thing. Stepped off the boat and bam on my butt. On Sunday I dropped my brother in-law off to get the truck and he stepped onto the deck where the slop is and down he went. He then did a split and hit his head and hit his knee on the cleat. I hope they fix it soon or the wrong person is going to do it a lawsuit will pop up and cause a problem for all of us.

Glad he is OK but if that were my my BIL he would have earned himself a new nickname knowing the guys if fish Wid.
