ok, not the most interesting report, but I finally got “offshore” so I was excited to be able to post here!
went to a live bottom spot I found with my chart, sonar and a little help from Maps Unique (not one that’s marked but nearby) in about 70’ and caught seabass as fast as I could get bait in the water. Had a pair of cobia circle the boat, one take a swipe at a big bucktail but he spit it before I could get him hooked. Nothing else besides sharpnose, but it was mostly to test my equipment out in a little deeper water and I got some dinner so all in all a good day. It was great to fish “my own” spot without a million other boats. Ready for another calm day to try a little deeper!
