just got back from Cabo tonight and had a good trip.
went out the first day at around 7. dragged baits until about 12 without a single strike. around 12:30 we saw a group of about 3 striped marlin on the surface and managed one of them. the fish was 98 inches. that was the only action we saw that day but at least i got my first bill
day 2 was much better. as soon as we left the marina we spotted a huge school of YFT feeding. dragged baits through them and caught 4. then we saw a 400+ blue marlin and tossed one of the YTF to him but couldnt get him to take. all of the YFT were about 25-40#. followed that same school around the whole day and caught 8 in total. not bad at all for this time of year.
did the mexicos release the marlin my buddy went down there bout 2 months ago and caught 2 sails the mexicos killed the fish and sold them to the orphanage
Congrats on the first bill, that is awesome. Don’t have mine yet. I’ve been on the boat when some sails were brought in but I wasn’t the angler:frowning_face:
Friendship is like peeing on yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings.
sprig, yeah the plane ride back was terrible. we fished with Marlin Masters the day that i caught the stripe but fished with a private boat on the second day
I was down there last week on my honeymoon- we fished 2 days- I caught my first striped marlin and the biggest sailfish I have ever seen. My wife also caught her first marlin. Unfortunately my sail was tailwrapped and her marlin cot sharkbit so they kept both of them. We did manage to release my marlin.
Fish my Nish, i dont know you but from now on put your topics in the Non Fishing Category… ots called charleston fishing not cabo fishing. This does not contribute to anything. hate to be rude… best regards.
