Cajun Anchor or Stick It Anchor?

The stick it anchor should come with a line that has an eye spliced on the end. Slip the bitter end of the line through the eye to make a kind of “slip knot” and then drop that over the T-handle on the stick. It will tighten up and never come off. If your line come untied from the boat then you just need to work on your knot tying skills!

I have the 10’ Stick-It anchor and love it. Ive been surprised at how well it holds

Get a 15 ft. x 3/8" length of dockline. I use the braided dockline that Walmart sells. If it does not have a loop in one end, tie one. Do as Bosun said, except wrap the loop end around the stick-it 4 or 5 times in a downward direction before putting the bitter end through the loop. Tighten this about 6" below the T handle. When the “knot” gets tight, it will not slip up to the handle.

I have not tried this yet, but I have two 8 ft. stick-its. I plan to connect the pointy ends with hose clamps, making a poor man’s 15 ft. or so push pole. One “handle end” will serve as the “foot” of the push pole, and the other, of course, as “handle”

Also, I wonder if DNR would issue a couple of X-ra shrimp pole tags. I could throw bait binder balls around my stick-its when fishing and keep freshly caught bait on board without having to take time to “go catch bait”. The bait binder smell and shrimp might attract fish to my boat. I’d cull the bigger shrimp for supper!

I took a 8ft galvanized ground rod, cut six inches off the top and had it welded like “T” handle. Coated it with that spray rubber from HDepot and used the stickit clamps to hold it. I have it mounted across the beam in the back of my polar skiff and it rides nice and sticks well. Cheap alternative.

I'm wondering if I can make one out of 1" that will hold a 21' Sea Hunt CC. All of the one's I can find online seem to be made out of 3/4".

That’s because 3/4 is plenty strong enough. You ain’t likely to break it.
