cajun type anchor system

I’ve never used the Cajun type or stick it anchor systems. How well
do they hold , work in moving or fast water , how deep do they work???
I fish a 18ft cc key largo!!!:question::question::question::smiley:

Thanks GW

all gave some , some gave all–only two offered to die for you, christ for your sins , the soldier for your freedom!!!

I use one all the time, usualy with the power pole to set the boat where I want it. Depending on the bottom it holds well in soft bottom up to 15’ depending upon current and bottom. Hard bottom not so well. It is quite and clean.

I use the Cajuns. Most economical, easiest to use, and effective shallow water anchor system I have tried. As long as there is a soft bottom. About 8 ft is the maximum depth for me. My son has a fiberglass pole, don’t know the name, it doesn’t work as well.
Advice - tie a large float on the end of the rope on a cajun anchor in case the rope comes out of your hand. Else you will lose the anchor.

Ask me how I know…:smiley:

Instead of a float you could use a section of pool noodle to slid on the rope so it doesn’t get in your way as much, you just need to float the line not the whole anchor.

I like them. Just don’t leave it on the boat in Fla. Mine was stolen down there.

I use a stick-it 10’. Works very well. In slack water it’ll hold the boat in about 7’. In swift water it still holds well, you just have to put it deeper in the mud, which means you cant anchor as deep. I also have a 8’ stick it and if the wind is really howling I can use both to hold the boat steady in any orientation I choose.

I also recommend using some type of flotation device on the lanyard or the handle because they don’t float and ive almost lost one when I dropped it accidentally while trying to set up to fish.

Ha! My wife did that to mine too. It took me over 30 minuted to catch it. I kept throwing a weighted treble hook until I finally hooked the rope. My my cajuns have a tag line with a swim noodle tied to 'em.
