Calling all fish

Please get off the flats and head to deep warm water until this 21 degree sh*t passes by, don’t want to lose any of you…

After what they endured last year, this little COOL snap is nothing. Once you cross over into latter February with water temps. in the 50’s, the chances of the water getting dangerously cold are very remote. We have already dodged that bullet this year.

Amen to dat.

saw dead ( frozen ) trout after a 2 day nighttime freeze in Jan. Don’t take long for the flats to get cold. Juvies are “up da Creek” now and that’s where it get’s coldest at night. We definately had a kill last two years and this one is better but the normal trout pattern is not same for me.

The normal trout patterns will probably take a year or two to return. There were a lot of fish lost the last two years because of the extreme cold. This winter has certainly helped. Few if any die offs, and probably longer spawning.

We all like “longer spawning” seasons!

Water temp. today at Edisto 55 average. Lots of trout on the flats early this morning (saw em, didn’t catch em). Reds are acting like it’s March (moving fast but hard to catch), and the sheephead are around most docks with growth and willing to eat. Caught 20+ sheeps at the first 2 docks I stopped at. Left em biting. Oysters for bait. All 2-4 lbs.

Thanks for the report RADDADDY, glad to have you back posting reports here. Thanks
